A warm welcome to our readers and their friends

As venues you have previously frequented change in ways that no longer suit you or fade away entirely, consider Alexandria as a place to visit more often, if not ultimately come to inhabit.

As our Guidelines for Authors and Guidelines for Commenters make clear, the paramount value in Alexandria is full freedom of conversation on issues of any type, large and small. Naturally, by their having assumed greater responsibilities, our Authors have earned rights to publish beyond those enjoyed by commenters.

If you have not yet found what you are looking for here, perhaps it is because you or someone you know has not yet offered it. Consider doing so, and consider inviting someone to do it with you.

In time you may come to find something interesting, something those who have been here awhile already know whether they articulate it or not, that in Alexandria it is not, in the end, about the issues, the invigorating sparkle of their interest, the thrill of mental and rhetorical contest, the warmth of agreement, the quiet chagrin of realizing the greatest fool has just been revealed by you to be—you.

In Alexandria, in the end, it is about what remains when all else fades away.

Consider joining us today, or, if you know someone more suited than yourself, recommend us to them. If you somehow cannot find the Contact Form on our About Page, consider doing something else instead with our warmest blessing.
